How do I update to the new library app?


Depending on your device the app may automatically update or you may need to update the app in the App Store for iOS and Google Play for Android devices. 

What info do I need to log in?

You will need to know your member code and PIN/password (birthdate in the following format: DDMMYYY). To link family members you will need to know their member number and PIN/password too.

I can’t see all the options you’re telling me about, like book carousels and event carousels – what’s the problem?

If you have an iPhone and have a large text size selected in your settings it will change the display of the app, it will not display the new items carousels and it may not look like our example image. To change these settings so that the app displays correctly go to:

Settings -> Display & Brightness -> Text size -> and adjust the sizing accordingly.

How can I make room bookings and search library programs and events?

All featured events now display in the app underneath where you see the book carousel. To view all available events and access room bookings select the All Events button. Events can be filtered by location or category and can also be viewed in a calendar layout.  All loans, reservations and bookings can be easily viewed in the customer’s My Accountpage.

I have seen an event or book that I’m interested in, but I can’t book it / borrow it right now, how do I save this for later?

You can create reading or wish lists for both books and events and access them via the My Lists page in My Account. To add an item to a list, search for a book or event in the app and select the bookmark tab at the top of the item. You can either create a new list or add the title/event to an existing list. To create a new list, select New List, enter the name of your new list (this is a free text field and you can call itanything you like) and select the New List button to save it. To add a title or event to an existing list, select the list that you want to save it to and select Done.

I speak a language other than English, how can I change this?

Language preference can be changed by accessing the My Account page and selecting Language. If your language isn’t available, contact your local library.

I want to motivate myself or my family to read more. (coming in December)

The Reading Tracker, like fitness tracking but for reading, tracks your reading activity and unlocks virtual rewards. You can start tracking your reading by selecting Reading Tracker from the My Account menu. You can record the number of books read, time spent reading, number of reading sessions and monitor  Book Completion Rate.

How can I review a book that I have read? (coming in December)

From the Reading Tracker page you can also choose Reviews to leave a book review. Select the Write a Reviewoption, select the book to review from your recent loans then rate the book and provide your review. 

How do I get notifications? (coming in December)

Push notifications can be enabled to remind you about reservations, loans, checkout alerts, general library notices, events and room bookings.

It’s broken, or not available or something is majorly wrong! Help!
