Tura Marrang Library proudly presents an evening in discussion with Sofie Laguna. Sofie is an award-winning Australian writer for children and adults. She won the Miles Franklin Award for her second novel, The Eye of the Sheep in 2015. Sofie’s most recent novel for adults, Infinite Splendours, won the 2021 Margaret and Colin Roderick Literary Award and the HT Priestley Medal and was long listed for the Miles Franklin Award, the Indie Award and the Australian Book Industry Awards. Sofie's new novel for adults, The Underworld, is due for launch with Penguin Books Australia, October 28.
Sofie originally studied to be a lawyer, but after deciding law was not for her, she moved to Melbourne to train as an actor. Sofie worked for many years as an actor before she began to write books.
Sofie is an author of great breadth and accomplishment, and we are truly thrilled to welcome her to Tura Marrang Library. This is an opportunity not to be missed! Bookings are required.
