Trove
Trove is a fantastic free online discovery tool that lets you search for historical photos, images and newspapers as well as books, articles, maps and other documents. In particular, Trove includes:

• the full-text of major Australian newspapers, from 1803 to 1954
• the full-text of the Australian Women’s Weekly, from 1933 to 1982

NSW Births, Deaths and Marriages
The NSW Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages is an agency within the NSW Department of Customer Service. Its role is to register life events such as births, deaths and marriages in NSW.

NSW State Library
The State Library of New South Wales, part of which is known as the Mitchell Library, is a large heritage-listed special collections, reference and research library open to the public and is one of the oldest libraries in Australia.

National Library of Australia
The National Library preserves Australian heritage for the past, present and the future, so that we can discover and understand our Australian story.

Society of Australian Genealogists
A fantastic site with access to their library catalogue as well as their index to ships' musters 1816-1825; index to soldiers and marines 1787-1830 and tickets of leave index.
The Society of Australian Genealogists also hold copies of the Perkins Papers in their primary collection.  These papers are particularly relevant to the Eden-Monaro electorate. These Papers illustrate the social history of the electorate and cover from 1823 to 1948.

Births, Deaths, Marriages in United Kingdom

Essential guide to accessing records on child migrants to Australia, that are held by Commonwealth and State archive offices

Mariners and Ships in Australian Waters
Material on website derived directly from the NSW State Archives collection, namely Shipping Master’s Office records and Inwards Passengers Lists. Focus is on 1870s.

National Archives of Australia – Family History
These records mostly date from Federation in 1901. Does not include records of convicts, of colonial migration, or of 19th century Australian history such as the gold rushes, exploration or colonial administration.
