Celebrate National Science Week with Bega Valley Shire Libraries! We’re hosting a range of free events packed with hands-on activities, expert talks, and exciting science for all ages.
Citizen Science Corner Launch
Join us as Bermagui Library launches its brand-new Citizen Science Corner. Learn how you can get involved in real scientific research by collecting and sharing information about nature, animals, and the environment.
Guest speakers from the Atlas of Life include:
- Raymond Daly – Discover how iNaturalist works and the local story of citizen science in the Bega Valley.
- Deb Taylor – Learn about the crucial role of biodiversity for life on Earth.
Whether you're a curious beginner or a budding naturalist, this event is the perfect way to dive into science in your own backyard.

A fun-filled morning of science, learning, and discovery for the whole family! Come along for live demonstrations, interactive exhibits, guest talks, and information stands from some incredible science and environment organisations.

Guest Speaker: David Jones – Orchids of the South Coast
Renowned horticulturalist David Jones will present a special talk on the fascinating orchids of the South Coast as part of our Science Week Fun Day.
David is the author of over 30 books and an internationally recognised expert in Australian native orchids. His work has shaped orchid research and conservation in Australia and beyond.
