Golden Book Launch: Jade Timms in conversation with Gabbie Stroud
Join local author Jade Timms for the launch of her debut novel, Golden. Jade will be in conversation with local author, Gabbie Stroud to discuss the highs and lows of writing, publishing and life on the Far South Coast.

The Dead Still Cry Out – a special author event to mark the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II
The Dead Still Cry Out: the Story of a Combat Cameraman follows the extraordinary true story of Mike Lewis, a British parachutist and combat cameraman who filmed the liberation of Bergen-Belsen concentration camp.
Dr Helen Lewis will talk about her research journey and why her father's experiences are still relevant today. Free event

Author Talk with Sofie Laguna
Tura Marrang Library proudly presents an evening in discussion with Sofie Laguna. Sofie is an award-winning Australian writer for children and adults. She was awarded the Miles Franklin Award for her second novel, The Eye of the Sheep. Sofie’s most recent novel for adults, Infinite Splendours, won the 2021 Margaret and Colin Roderick Literary Award and the HT Priestley Medal and was long listed for the Miles Franklin Award, the Indie Award and the Australian Book Industry Awards. Sofie's upcoming novel The Underworld is out this October.

Low-Waste Living In the Kitchen
Biochemist and Nutritionist Nikki Wagner will show you how to preserve your harvest in shelf-stable ways like bottling, canning, vinegars, hard cider, juice, fruit leather/dehydrating, and more. Find out how to start your own community group to help support waste reduction such as gardening groups, food preserving days, equipment sharing and food swapping. Free event.

Seed Saving for Sustainable Gardens
Saving seeds can save you money and help increase self-reliance and local biodiversity.
In this workshop, you’ll learn how to successfully save seed for edible plants with tips on how to get it right the first time. Aimed at beginners, there’ll be theory, a demo and hands-on practice. Cost: $10 donation on the day welcomed.

Ageing with Vitality - Fun Moves That Make a Difference for Seniors
Learn how to reduce your risk of falls at home.
Join Southern NSW Local Health District’s Health Promotion team and learn how to stay active and healthy as you get older. We’ll discuss how to make small changes to improve your health and wellbeing and show you simple exercises to improve your strength and balance. Free event.

Science Week Fun Day For All Ages
Join in with some fun hands-on science! There’ll be interactive activity stations – strawberry DNA, collaborative gaming, digital drawing, plus more! Information stalls from Atlas of Life in the Coastal Wilderness, Council’s Environment Team and talks from renowned botanist, David Jones. More to come! Free Event.

Exhibitions
Fungi Festival - Tika Robinson Exhibition
Bermagui Library and the Fungi Festival presents new works by award winning artist Tika Robinson. Combining ceramics and works on paper, Tika’s fungi inspired work studies ideas such as life and death, and decay and growth. Tika explores the contrast between the human and natural world and what can be created with diametrically opposing ideas. More info.

Ailsa Wild Author Event - Creating a character inspired by fungus
Meet author Ailsa Wild and a bundle of your local friendly mycelium. We’ll read some of the book The Forest in the Tree, learn a tiny bit of science, and design our own story characters inspired by real life fungi.
Ailsa Wild is the author of 24 published books. Her adventure series Squishy Taylor and the Naughtiest Pixie are loved by young readers and her recent graphic novel, Follow Your Gut, was listed as a CBCA Notable.

The Great Zamboni
