Broadband for Seniors program @ Bega Library
- Provides older Australians with access to computers and the Internet via free Internet kiosks,
- Supports seniors to gain confidence and build skills in using new technology,
- Addresses the issue of older Australians feeling isolated and ‘left behind’ in a technological age,
- Builds community participation and social inclusion amongst older Australians.
Dedicated computers and volunteer tutors are available for training in the following areas:
- Basic computer use
- Word processing
- Internet searching
Computer Training @ your library
Need to brush up your IT skills - never used a computer before - like to learn how to use a Mac - download digital photos from your camera? Free computer training is available at all libraries, just call your local branch for further information. Make sure you subscribe to the library newsletter to receive updates on the computer training schedule.

Cybersmart can help you and your family stay safe and secure on the internet while having fun. Information on the Cybersmart web site will empower children and young people to be safe online.

University of Wollongong Partnership

Legal Information Access Centre (LIAC) - Includes plain language books about various aspects of Australian Law. Includes a series on topical issues and a range of free pamphlets.

Drug Info @ your library
Drug Info Services provides accessible drug information to communities through public libraries and the web since 2002.
Local and Family History
Our collection includes books, newspapers, microfilm, fiche, CD-ROMs, online resources like Ancestry.com and a reference service.
Adult Literacy Collection
The Library has an expanding collection of Adult Literacy and English as a Second Language (ESL) materials designed to help people learn the English language OR improve their command of English.
These materials help people to learn or improve various skills, such as:
- Pronunciation skills - kits help students learn the correct pronunciation of words, the sound, stress and rhythm of the language
- Listening skills - kits to help improve the learner's listening skills and understanding of the spoken word
- Reading skills - these materials help develop and/or improve reading skills
- Writing skills - includes spelling, punctuation, grammar, letter writing, filling forms and taking messages.

Multicultural services for libraries
Borrow books in your language for FREE!!
The Multicultural Bulk Loan service allows members of our community to borrow a box of books or other library materials including Large Print and Audiobooks, in up to 43 community languages (available languages listed below), as well as English as a Second Language (ESL) resources.
Multicultural collections
Each language collection has:
- adult fiction in a range of genres, where available
- adult non-fiction, including cookbooks, history, psychology, biographies, society and more
- children's board books, picture books and chapter books, and non-fiction across a range of subjects
- bilingual books in selected languages
- Vox Books (junior bilingual print books with an audio recording built in so users can listen and read along) - limited to 2 per bulk loan
- audiobooks and a small number of large print books are available in some languages.
Requesting a multicultural bulk loan
Phone, visit or email your local library, let our helpful library staff know what types of books you would like and they will submit a request on your behalf.
