The Dawn of Postmodern Poetry – A Performance of Frank O’Hara’s Poems
Join us for a performance of Frank O’Hara’s poems by Dr Kai Jensen. Frank O’Hara was a central figure of the New York school of poetry and painting in the 1950s and 1960s. He was one of the first and most influential postmodern poets. O’Hara devised a new kind of poetry mixing elements of surrealism with down-to-earth everyday language and reportage of his own day-to-day experience.
Dr Kai Jensen is a poet and doctor of English who lives at Fairhaven, on Wallaga Lake. Frank O’Hara is one of his two or three most favourite poets. Free events.

Storytelling for Radio and Podcasts
Local broadcaster and writer, Lisa Herbert will take you through the basics of storytelling for radio and podcasting. From where to find stories, interviewing, structure and scripting, to recording equipment, sound design, editing, legals and how to publish your podcast and package for radio. We’ll have audio equipment for you to use so you’re ready to dive into telling your stories to the world!

DIY Green and Safe Cleaning Products
Karina Nadalin from Sage Clean will talk about the why and how of environmentally friendly cleaning.
Learn about what chemicals are hidden in common cleaning agents and why you may wish to avoid them, what you can use instead and why natural common ingredients can be better for your home, budget and the environment whilst still providing a quality job.
The workshop will include a demonstration in mixing up your own cleaning agents. $5.00.

Release Trauma with Somatic Yoga, Kate-Nirlipta O’Leary
Join respected local yoga teacher Kate-Nirlipta O’Leary, to hear about her book Release Trauma with Somatic Yoga. Kate-Nirlipta has over 40 years of experience in the fields of yoga, health, and wellbeing. Her teaching is grounded in authenticity, compassion, and integrates traditional yogic wisdom with a trauma-informed, therapeutic lens. Kate will discuss the background behind writing her book, and offer some gentle exercises, which can be done seated. Copies of Kate’s book will be available for sale, cash purchases preferred, EFTPOS may be available. Free events.
