Hoopla is a free digital service that allows library members to borrow movies, TV series, music, eBooks, audiobooks, comics and manga.

Hoopla is completely free with your Bega Valley Shire Library membership.

You can borrow up to 8 items per month.

Most movies and TV episodes are available for 72 hours (3 days) from the time you borrow the title. Some publishers limit the borrow time to 48 hours (2 days).

Most Music albums are available for 7 days from the time you borrow the title.

Most Audiobooks, Comics, and eBooks are available for 21 days from the time you borrow the title.

BingePasses are available for 7 days from the time you borrow the title

Before you can borrow, you will need to create a Hoopla account. Once you are signed in, you can borrow titles though the hoopla digital mobile app or the website. Once you select a title you can click on the Borrow button on the title details page. Once a title is borrowed, it is accessible by clicking on "My Hoopla" on the website or in the app. You must remain logged in to view downloaded content.

The monthly borrow limit resets on the first day of the new month. Previously borrowed titles will remain until their lending period expires, but you will be given your new month's borrows.

When logged in and viewing a title you may save a title by clicking the heart icon. To view titles that you have saved, click on "My Hoopla" at the bottom, then press the heart in the top right

No. All content is available instantly—there are no holds or queues.

Available the last seven days of each calendar month, Bonus Borrows are titles available for you to enjoy without using your monthly Hoopla Instant borrows. Explore a broad range of content, new authors, and so much more.

You can access your BingePass title on the web or via your Android, Android Fire, or iOS device. Select BingePasses are accessible on Roku devices. BingePass is not available on set-top boxes (e.g., Samsung TV, Fire TV/Stick, or Apple TV).

SeasonPass provides 7 days of access to an entire season of content from a selection of full TV seasons with a single borrow. Explore new series or revisit a favourite, all with no waiting! You can find SeasonPass on the BingePass and Television pages.

Titles on the Windows and MacOS platforms are only available for streaming.

Yes. Hoopla Kids Mode is a multi-format, digital media experience designed especially for kids (up to age 12). All of the content – eBooks, audiobooks, comics and manga, music, movies, TV, and BingePass – has been curated and brought together in this one family-friendly place.

To turn on Kids mode access your hoopla Settings, select the Kids Mode tab, set a 4-digit pin and select Turn On.

Kids Mode is a feature that should be used with parental guidance. There are different age ranges using this feature and the titles available range from G-General Audiences to PG – Parental Guidance Suggested. Parents or guardians are expected to decide whether a specific title is appropriate for their child.

• Apple TV:  Yes, available on 4th and 5th gen devices, and AirPlay on 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th gen devices.
• Apple CarPlay: Yes, as long as your device and vehicle are supported. To learn more about CarPlay refer to the following article: Apple CarPlay
• Android devices: Yes, most devices running Android 7.1 and above.
• Android TV: Yes, all Android TV set-top boxes.
• Android Auto: Yes, as long as your device and vehicle are supported. 
• Chromecast: Yes, casting supported to the 1st and 2nd generation Chromecasts, including Chromecast Ultra and Smart TVs with Chromecast built-in.
• Amazon devices: Yes, all Amazon Fire tablets are supported but not Kindle Paperwhite or any eReader devices like it.
• Windows operating systems: Yes, available on Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 and Windows 11. hoopla will not work with Windows mobile devices.
• Windows desktop browsers: Yes, recent versions of Microsoft Edge, recent versions of Google Chrome and Firefox.
• Mac operating systems: Yes, MacOS 11 and above.
• Mac desktop browsers: Yes, recent versions of Safari, Chrome, and Firefox.
• Chromebooks: Yes, most Chromebooks
• Amazon Fire TV: Yes, all 1st, 2nd and 3rd gen devices. We do not currently support Fire TV Cube. 
• Samsung TV: Yes, Samsung TV version 7.0 (2022).
•  LG TV: Yes, LG TV versions webOSTV 23-25 and webOSTV 5.0-7.0
• Roku TV: Yes, there is a Roku channel for devices running 9.4 and higher.

New titles are added on a weekly basis. Please note that some titles may only be available for a limited time. If you see something you like, be sure to check it out while it's available!

Hoopla supports Amazon Fire tablets and Fire TVs but device needs to run above 6.0 OS
