Did you know that 43% of our population does not have the literacy skills to cope with everyday life?
Here 2 Help is a collaboration between TAFE NSW Bega and the Bega Valley Shire Library. The drop-in service offers a confidential one-on-one tuition with volunteers in whatever literacy and numeracy needs people have.
Here 2 Help will run every Thursday in school terms from 2.30pm to 5pm at Bega Library; and every Wednesday in school terms from 10:30am to 12:00pm at Tura Marrang Library.
What to expect
Volunteer tutors work one on one with the client to reach an identified goal. There is no enrolment or assessments, just help with whatever the client wants. Clients are encouraged to bring in documents for whatever they want help with, but we also have resources at the library.
Do you need help to fill out a form?
Maybe it's a licence application or a Medicare form? Here 2 Help volunteers can help you navigate and fill out complex forms.
Things to remember
- It is a drop-in service, but it does help if you can let us know you're coming. Call Bega Library on 6499 2127 so we can get ready for your visit.
- Remember to bring your login and password details to any relevant websites you need to access, as well as your email login details.
