The library is running an action-packed program of events and activities this Summer including a highly creative calendar card-making workshop for all ages, summer-time movie screenings at Tura Library, a botanical bath bomb blitz (great last minute Christmas gifts *hint hint *, super-secret treasure hunts for kids and much much more!

Introduction to scrapbooking

Bring out your artistic side in this creative scrapbooking workshop. Learn some new techniques and begin creating a beautiful record of your special moments, recipes or family history. Materials provided. You may choose to bring some photographs or mementos or to use library resources.
All levels of creativity and skill are welcome.

Great Makedo Bridge Battle

Think you’ve got what it takes to build the strongest bridge? Grab your Makedo Creative Tools and put your skills to the test! Each challenger will design and construct their own cardboard bridge — then we’ll load them up to see which one stands strong the longest.

Will your bridge hold… or fold? There’s only one way to find out!

Botanical bath bombs

Make time for yourself by learning how to create relaxing and rejuvenating hand made floral bath bombs. Essential oils, Himalayan salts, soothing clays and a sprinkle of flowers all add to this luscious experience.

Super spy treasure hunt for ages 9 to 90

Are you ready to receive your super-secret spy mission?
Upon contacting the spy headquarters, you will be allocated your secret agent name and given your spy kit. Spy teams (child and adult) will decode and solve a series of clues hidden throughout the Library. Each answer leads you closer to completing your secret mission. Basic reading skills required.

Summer Reading Club - The Golden Ticket!

Ready for a summer full of stories and surprises? Hidden among our shelves are 16 golden tickets—tucked away in books from our adult, youth, and children’s collections. Borrow a book that holds one of these special tickets, and you’ll win a prize!

Movie screening @ Tura Marrang Library

Step into the holiday spirit with a heartwarming festive film! Join us for a special screening of a charming romantic comedy inspired by the music of George Michael.

Make and create a diorama and finger puppets

In this interactive, hands-on workshop, children aged 2 to 6 will dive into the world of imaginative play by crafting their very own finger puppets and building a miniature diorama to bring their stories to life.

Kamishibai storytellling workshop

Kimishibai is a traditional Japanese way of storytelling with a beautifully decorated box and illustrated cards. In this fun and creative workshop, Noisy Nonna will share her favourite Kamishibai stories, then help you make your very own storytelling box. You’ll get to draw your own story cards and put on a mini performance with your creation! All materials are provided and everyone's welcome!

Kids can code! Code it. Play it. Own it.

Level up your creativity in this hands-on workshop with Ashton Salter from Bega Makerspace. Learn block coding using Scratch to design your own games, stories and animations, bringing characters, sound and movement to life. No experience needed - just your imagination and a laptop (so you can save your work) or use one from the library. For ages 8 - 12.

LEGO Challenge

Are your Lego skills up to the challenge? Join us in this fun STEM session where we look at some basic engineering principles to complete a series of challenges. Bring your sense of fun and creativity!
